File Size: 1.4 MB
“Autorun Eater was born due to increase of malwares using the ‘autorun.inf’ tactic to infect users unknowingly be it from flash drives, removable hard disks or any other removable storage device. When an infected device is infected with a malware and an ‘autorun.inf’ file is dropped, the shell menu is normally modified to execute the malware whenever the unsuspecting user double-clicks the infected drive.
“Most anti-malware apps out there will almost instantly remove any malware detected but more often than not they leave the ‘autorun.inf’ file behind. And what if the anti-malware app fails to catch the malware? Here is when Autorun Eater comes in handy. Autorun Eater will remove any suspicious ‘autorun.inf’ files even before the user attempts to access the drive. These files are auto-backup’ed in case of false positives. Here are some key features:
• Scan and remove suspicious ‘autorun.inf’ files found in the root directory of all drives, A-Z, in real-time
• Hotkey enabled to toggle scan
• Start, Stop or Pause scan (with ‘option grey-out’)
• Scan priority (normal/high)
• Scan results are logged
• Add and remove from startup entry
• Fix 3 common registry entries commonly disabled by malwares
• 2 suspicious removal methods – ‘Ask For Confirmation’ and ‘Auto-Remove’
• View contents of suspicious ‘autorun.inf’ files in detection window”

“The enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET) is designed to help prevent hackers from gaining access to your system.
“EMET provides users with the ability to deploy security mitigation technologies to arbitrary applications. This helps prevent vulnerabilities in those applications (especially line of business and 3rd party apps) from successfully being exploited. By deploying these mitigation technologies on legacy products, the tool can also help customers manage risk while they are in the process of transitioning over to modern, more secure products. In addition, it makes it easy for customers to test mitigations against any software and provide feedback on their experience to the vendor.
“EMET is unusual because it does not require changing application code to make it work. With other security technologies, such as Data Execution Prevention, developers must recompile their apps to add support for the enhanced protection. EMET works with existing code, making it ideal for protecting legacy software.”

“Flash Cookies, otherwise known as Local Shared Objects (LSOs), are cookie-like data files that are stored on a computer. Flash Cookies are used by all versions of Adobe Flash Player.
“Cookies by their design constitute privacy concerns because they store data which may be retrieved by people or programs that are up to no good. Ordinary cleaners do remove regular cookies but do not remove these Flash Cookies, giving the user a false sense of security. Several services even use Flash Cookies as a data storage to reinstate traditional cookies that a user deleted, which is called ‘re-spawning’. So even if a user gets rid of a website’s tracking cookie, that cookie’s unique ID will be assigned back to a new cookie again using the Flash data as the ‘backup’. If you value your privacy these Flash Cookies should be removed.
