“IE PassView is a small utility that reveals the passwords stored by Internet Explorer Web browser. It supports all versions of Internet Explorer, from version 4.0 and up to 10.0. For each password that is stored by Internet Explorer, the following information is displayed: Web address, Password Type (AutoComplete, Password-Protected Web Site, or FTP), Storage Location (Registry, Credentials File, or Protected Storage), and the user name/password pair. You can select one or more items from the passwords list and export them into text/html/csv/xml file.
“Starting from version 7.0 of Internet Explorer, Microsoft completely changed the way that passwords are saved. In previous versions (4.0 – 6.0), all passwords were saved in a special location in the Registry known as the Protected Storage. In version 7.0 of Internet Explorer, passwords are saved in different locations, depending on the type of password. Each type of passwords has some limitations in password recovery:
♦ AutoComplete Passwords: These passwords are saved in the following location in the Registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms\Storage2 The passwords are encrypted with the URL of the Web sites that asked for the passwords, and thus they can only be recovered if the URLs are stored in the history file. If you clear the history file, IE PassView won’t be able to recover the passwords until you visit again the Web sites the asked for the passwords.
♦ HTTP Authentication Passwords: These passwords are stored in the Credentials file under: Documents and Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Credentials, together with login passwords of LAN computers and other passwords. Due to security limitations, IE PassView can recover these passwords only if you have administrator rights.”

“Microsoft has just released the final version of Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7, so the company most likely expects the majority of users to make the move to the latest build of its in-house browser.
“System requirements are pretty important, however, when it comes to such an update, especially since the preview version of IE10 for Windows 7 was often criticized for slowing down computers.
“The final version of the browser is obviously supposed to provide a full browsing experience, so you shouldn’t experience any slowdown or errors while using it. Of course, this new build works just fine on both x64 and x86 versions of Windows 7, but keep in mind that Service Pack 1 is required in order to be allowed to install it.

“OE-QuoteFix will extend the functionality of MS Outlook Express in numerous ways! Its main purpose is to modify message composition windows on-the-fly to allow for correct quoting and to change the appearance of your plain-text replies and forwards in general: move your signature, use compressed indentation, have RFC compliant signatures, etc.
“But the second feature is equally practical: OE-QuoteFix can instantly color quoted passages (according to the level of indentation), fix bad quoting and generally beautify messages as you view them in Outlook Express.”
[ The download is no longer available at the author’s site, but MajorGeeks still has the latest version (click on the Buton above).
A couple of things to note when you have SP2 or 3 installed. OE-QuoteFix uses external files to color quoted material and to replace emoticons with icons. After installing WinXP SP2, OE is configured by default to block automatic downloads of external content. That means the coloring and icons features in OE-QuoteFix will not work. If you wish to use these features, you must disable the block in OE under: Tools| Options| Security.
Furthermore, SP2 makes changes in OE’s Read all messages in plain text feature. Instead of using an IE control, it now uses the RichEdit control. OE-QuoteFix will not function at all if you enable the plain text feature in OE under: Tools| Options| Read.
